We spent our afternoon looking at the affects of gravity on classroom objects.
The experiment started with a discussion on 'What is gravity?'. Mr Featherston gave us an example of gravity affecting a pen compared to jumping. We got into pairs and found four objects from the classroom. We were allowed to stand up on chairs and drop the objects from a height. We then came back for a discussion on what objects had more or less gravity.
We have been learning to swim at Cannons Creek Swimming Pool in the afternoon.
We were taught different skills in swimming. We learnt to float on tummies like a starfish. We were diving under the water like dolphins. We practiced our kicking using a flutter board. We even did two lengths of backstroke of the swimming pool by ourselves.
We would like to say a big thank you to our swimming instructors who taught us some amazing swimming skills.
In Room 3, we have been doing so much learning through writing, reading, maths, and other curriculum areas. We have a theme this term called 'Look Up'. We are exploring everything to do with flight and the sky. We have done several wall displays in the classroom.
You are more than welcome to come into the class and have a look at these displays.
We have made our very own Guess Who Game Board with our self portraits.
We have not put our names on our self portraits. It is up to you to guess the students that will be in Room 3 for 2017. We had an awesome time drawing ourselves.
Your are more than welcome to come to Room 3 and play 'Guess Who is in Room 3?'
